SARAH looks at HENRY in a different light when she hears other praising his care for his ex-girlfriend and when she knows that he does voluntary work for a home for the aged. HENRY slips at the old people’s home. UNCLE HO, who lives there, laughs at him and everybody starts to laugh at him, too. EDMOND learns that KIT has been ill and absent from work for a week. He goes to visit KIT, only to discover that he is playing with his bad companions. EDMOND flies into a fit of rage. He takes KIT to work the next day. KIT hits SUM, his boss, without a cause. EDMOND knows only then that SUM has harassed KIT. EDMOND blames himself for not taking good care of KIT. FRANCES also feels guilty to have overlooked KIT’s unusual behavior. SUM tries to persuade KIT into not suing him with money. KIT is provoked by this. EDMOND drives SUM away in anger. EDMOND plans to take KIT home so that he can take better care of him.… ...
